Friday blog question: What do you think of your new seat?

Everyone in the office is moving their desk today. (Well, the desk is staying put, they themselves are moving. To a new desk. Got it?) We do this every now and again, so we don’t get in a rut working (and effectively living) in the same place for too long, and also so we can mix with other teams and co-workers we might not necessarily see. We’re all non-corporate thinking like that. So this is where I sit now. I think I swung the best view in the office. And if you disagree, I will fight you. So I asked everybody else: What do you think of your new digs? or Will you miss the people you sat with before? or Is your view better or worse?

I am so ecstatic to finally have a view :) Jennifer Klatt
I’m going to miss the running Big Lebowski quotes. They really tied the office together, man. Sara Wachter-Boettcher
I think I swung the best view in the office. And if you disagree, I will fight you. Actually the best view is from the garage. gulp! What do you think of your new digs? I sit by the same peeps as last time pretty much. Will you miss the people you sat with before? I sit by the same peeps as last time pretty much. Is your view better or worse. Where before I saw parking garage, now I see Mill St. Definite move up. Nelson Jim
Ahh Eric - I know and love that very view. Just wait until Monsoon season - spectacular! Enjoy the new digs! Maggie Young
I like my new desk because I feel like I have more room, but I will miss my view of Mill Ave! Ellen Stevens
I didn't move desks but I'm excited to have a new crew on the North side. I'm predicting good times ahead of us. I'm also happy I didn't lose my view. Monique Prehoda
I’m quite pleased with my new spot. It’ll be nice having a view through the whole day without having to close the blinds. I’ve been warned however that people will ask me who’s in the Garage or Manhattan. So to answer everyone's question ahead of time,

"Nobody! Go right in!"

I am the Social Media Services Manager for Off Madison Ave. I've been with the company since 2006, when I was hired to do SEO, and link building in particular. When social networking sites started cropping up, at first I started using them to create backlinks - but they weren't the best for that, given all of the "nofollow" attributes. However, I did see the potential for all of the direct referral traffic they represent. Since then I've been actively pursuing both tactics for clients: Links that can help them for search, and social postings that get them involved in the conversation. It's about the coolest job you could ever get. ;)
