On line Video TV Shows: All South Park Episodes now available!

You know this whole "YouTube thing?" I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, I think it's a winner. I think it might just be here to stay. Now that I'm done cribbing Jon Stewart, let's get to the meat of the matter: NewTeeVee has gained exclusive rights to show all South Park episodes on its site. While episodes have been available for some time online - albeit illegally - this approved-of partnership will serve to both promote the use of the NewTeeVee site, and allow South Park Studios to gain ad revenue from their own content. This is the way things are going to go, in case you haven't been paying attention. All video sites with a modicum of budget are now creating exclusive content, just like TV networks all have their own shows. With smart use of ads, or a branded page, people will be able to get their shows on demand, for free, and the creators will not be hamstrung by anyone with a site. Hopefully this will also allow fans to occaisionally post their favorite episode on their own site with embedding code. If nothing else, it will kill off those people cashing in on illegal exhibition of content because they happen to have an Adsense account. As I am always fond of telling people, an HDTV is essentially an oversized computer monitor. People will eventually hook up their PCs to their TVs just to watch all of this content. Between this, NBC, Netflix,  and every other entertainment distributor setting up shop on the Internet, your TV advertising budget and your on line budget had really better have something to do with each other. After all, TiVo hasn't come up with a box to help people skip past these ads yet.

I am the Social Media Services Manager for Off Madison Ave. I've been with the company since 2006, when I was hired to do SEO, and link building in particular. When social networking sites started cropping up, at first I started using them to create backlinks - but they weren't the best for that, given all of the "nofollow" attributes. However, I did see the potential for all of the direct referral traffic they represent. Since then I've been actively pursuing both tactics for clients: Links that can help them for search, and social postings that get them involved in the conversation. It's about the coolest job you could ever get. ;)
