Where are Palin's PR Peeps?

Rule number 1 for TV interviews - 80 plus percent of your communication is visual. Which is why it is downright crazy that Governor Palin's PR peeps let a turkey slaughter serve as her backdrop for what could have been a great interview.   Honestly, I had to watch the video five times before I could focus on what she was actually saying. One point that came through loud and clear - "you need a little bit of levity for this job," and apparently this was achieved with a turkey getting a Marie Antoinette.  Part of a PR practitioner's job is helping your client present themselves in the best possible light so that their message is well received by the intended audience. What message was Governor Palin trying to send today?

Eric Reid says:

Frankly, I'm more upset that they edited the video. I hate that media outlets feel the need to protect me from things that might give me the heebie jeebies.

Oh, wait, that's right, they aren't trying to protect me, they're just aiding in the Fascism of Parenthood. Because someone else doesn't want to explain to their brood of slugs where Thanksgiving dinner comes from, I have to get watered down news.

As for how it makes Palin look, it doesn't matter. There aren't too many Americans who don't already know she's a pinhead.

Roger Hurni says:

Watching Palin is like watching a car accident. She may have lost the race but she's won our attention. I think she plans to give W a run for the most embarrassing bloopers reel by a politician.

Susan Baier says:

It almost seems as if her comments were specifically designed to contrast with the bloodbath going on behind her. Her PR folks should be fired -- not just for allowing this to happen themselves, but for not training their client to take a quick look around before she positions herself for an interview.
