ASSISTANT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, PUBLIC RELATIONS
📍 Full-time, Hybrid | Based in Marblehead, MA
Join our team as an PR Account Executive in our Marblehead office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, brings strong media relations skills, and has a passion for shaping meaningful brand stories.
The Role
CGPR, a division of Off Madison Ave, is looking for a proactive, media-savvy Assistant Account Executive to support our public relations team in driving impactful campaigns for clients across consumer active lifestyle categories where fashion, outdoor, technology, and sustainability intersect. This role is perfect for someone with 2–3 years of PR or communications experience who’s ready to take the next step in a fast-paced agency environment (agency experience preferred). You’ll help execute integrated PR strategies, manage media outreach, craft compelling content, and support day-to-day account activity with creativity and professionalism.
Functions & Responsibilities
- Media Relations & Outreach
• Build and maintain targeted media and influencer lists specific to client industries and campaigns
• Draft and distribute press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, bylines, and briefing documents
• Proactively pitch media and follow up to secure coverage
• Track placements and compile coverage reports with insightsContent & Messaging
• Write and edit press materials, client content, and social media copy with strong storytelling and brand voice
• Contribute to messaging frameworks, campaign ideas, and news-jacking opportunities
• Support preparation of award submissions and thought leadership piecesAccount Support
• Assist in running client programs — from kickoff through execution and reporting
• Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and follow up on action items
• Maintain editorial calendars, project timelines, and task trackers
• Coordinate logistics for interviews, product sends, events, and client engagementsResearch & Reporting
• Conduct media, competitive, and industry research to inform plans
• Help prepare monthly results dashboards and narrative reports
• Monitor trends that could benefit clients
What You Bring
- 2–3 years of PR, communications, or related experience (agency background a plus)
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of media outreach and news judgment
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with media databases (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack) and monitoring tools preferred
- Professional demeanor in external and internal communication
- Demonstrated success in media outreach and building strong media relationships.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
